Preakness Stakes 2009 Odds: Rachel Alexandra the Early Favorite

The Preakness Stakes is set for today, May 16. Post time is 6:05pm EST. The second race in horse racing's famed Triple Crown will take place at the Pimlico racetrack in Baltimore, MD. The first Triple Crown race took place on May and was won by Mine That Bird on May 2.

Thus far, the 2009 Preakness odds indicate that Rachel Alexandra is the favorite. If Rachel Alexandra wins, she'll be the first filly to do so since 1924. Other favorites include Pioneerof the Nile at 4 to 1 and Kentucky Derby champ Mine That Bird at 5 to 1.
