Pune Warriors won by 7 wkts

It has been a low scoring day today at the IPL. But, in the end, it has been Maharashtra's day as Pune and Mumbai registered comprehensive victories.

Wagh: I would like to thank Sahara Pune for giving me the chance. The DY Patil stadium has some grass and I enjoy bowling on this track. Alphonso and I worked as a team and I enjoyed bowling in tandem with him. The atmosphere at DY Patil is absolutely amazing.

Shrikanth Wagh is the MoM for his haul of 3/16.

Yuvraj: It is nice to get our first win. We picked up early wickets and that set us on our way. We had plans as to how we would go about it. We intended to bowl wicket to wicket and back of a length. Manhas and Ryder steadied the ship after the loss of Smith. Unfortunately, Manhas has not played for India but he is a great talent. It was an enjoyable experience captaining Pune. In the first two years captaining Punjab, I was distracted and I put too much pressure on myself. Today, I was relaxed.

Gilchrist: We had some bad moments and it was poor. The first over was where it started. Ryan McLaren and Piyush Chawla had a good partnership. We had something to defend, but we could not hold onto our chances. We felt comfortable coming in today, but we need to take little steps and we have to work on it. Ryan McLaren was outstanding and the bowlers were good. There are some players who have not been involved in the IPL and they got a chance to showcase their skills.

Ryder: Can't wait to get inside the dressing room. A great start to the franchisee. Thomas is an experienced customer and he showed it today. The wicket was quicker when it started and it got
slower as the game went on. Pune Warriors are looking after me well and it's looking good here.

Yuvraj continued his golden run as Pune scored their first win in this tournament. Ryder took the attack to the Punjab bowlers after the early loss of Smith. But, Yuvraj and Uthappa ensured that there were no slip-ups as they secured a comprehensive seven wicket victory. Stay tuned for the presentation.
