Radfcliffe wins New York City Marathon

She finished ahead of Ethiopian Gete Wami (2:23:32) and Latvian Jelena Prokopcuka (2:26:13). Prokopcuka had won here the last two years.

Radcliffe, who has won all seven of the marathons she has finished in her career, was disappointing only in the 2004 Olympic marathon in Athens, where she failed to finish.

Reigning world champion Catherine Ndereba of Kenya, finished fifth (2:29:08) behind Russian Lidiya Grigoryeva (2:28:37).
