A Raidernation under siege, Head Coach not fired, Reporter “smoking weed”
Veteran Bay Area sports reporter Tim Kawakami received a rare peek "behind the Raiders curtain" Monday, when confronted by Raiders Official John Herrera following a press conference that shocked most of those who leach onto the Raidernation. Head Coach Lane Kiffin had not been fired.
Kawakami, a San Jose Mercury sports columnist was confronted and accused by an irrate John Herrera of amongst other things smoking a little "weed." Kawakami for his part was relatively cool about the whole thing before diverting to that old American staple . . . sue me?
Herrera tearing a page from the book of Raiders bad-boy defensive-back DeAngelo Hall’s tore a strip off the itty-bitty Mercury News reporter acting more like a member of the Raiders on field squad than the Executive that he is. Herrea’s accusations regarding Kawakami’s smoking habits are typical of a Raiders organization that does everything ass backwards.
Instead of firing Kiffin, the NFL’s youngest Head Coach at the tender age of thirty-three maybe Hologram Al Davis the Raiders ruthless owner could invest a couple million dollars into a Raidernation etiquette program to teach young men like Mr. Hall how to conduct themselves on the field of play.
Oh yeah,
And if Al Davis for some reason has become as frugal as he is reclusive he should take into consideration the potential of marketing this type of etiquette training to other team around the league. I’m thinking Cincinnati.

Update:
A posting on Kawakami’s blog "talking points" posted Tuesday morning states that Kawakami received an apologetic telephone call, the call came from Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffen rather then offender John Herrera or big boss Al Davis. It just goes too show that like minds, especially in Raider-land stick together. Individuals who behave like Raiders official John Herrera have come to signify everything the Raiders stand for, rotten, rotten, rotten.
Unfortunately for the Raiders organization, class acts like Tim Kawakami and Lane Kiffen never stick around. Good luck Tim, I hope when Kiff finally finds his way out of that rat trap, that perhaps he will take you along as a "media advisor" or something like that.
