Ravens vs Steelers "The Thrilla-N-Pittsila" AFC Playoff Showdown
Dunkadelic Sports Marketing in Baltimore, MD has become the "Don King of the NFL" when it comes to promoting the much anticipated AFC Divisional playoff game this coming Saturday (1/15) between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Baltimore and Pittsburgh will be facing off for the 3rd time this season when the NFL's most fierce and physical rivalry play for a spot in the AFC Championship.
This game has been named "The Thrilla-N-Pittsila" by Dunkadelic Sports Marketing a moniker from the famous epic fight of 1975 the Thrilla In Manila. The 14-round intense heavyweight title fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier held in the Manila, Philppines.
Derrick E. Vaughan of Dunkadelic Sports Marketing says, "this is a football fans dream. In the old days of boxing during the Ali 70's era there was so much anticipation to his fights with Joe Frazier and that's the way it is when the Ravens and Steelers hook up. Its the best rivalry in the game and people can't enough of their passion and hatred towards one another. Taking a cue from Ali."
"Its going to be a gridiron thrilla, and a chilla , when B-More comes to town for The Thrilla-N-Pittsila."
These two teams have gone toe-to-toe twice the season with each team winning on the others turf. Baltimore beat Pittsburgh at home in week 4 of the season 17-14. The Steelers beat the Ravens at home on December 5th last year 13-10. They are mirror images of each other with their smash-mouth style of play. Each team has scored 27 points vs one another combined in both games, and that makes this truly an Ali-Frazier NFL style heavyweight match-up.
Now its the rubber-match to decide who will take on the winner of the Jets and Patriots. It also will be the championship of each other for this season. This will make the 8th time in 3 seasons that they have met. Pittsburgh beat Baltimore in January 2009 in the AFC Championship and moved on to face the Arizona Cardinals and won Super Bowl XLIII (43).
The Thrilla In Manila is widely regarded as one of the 10 best fights of all-time. The Ali-Frazier trilogy is considered as the best boxing rivalry ever. There are some that will say its the best sports rivalry of all-time.
Ali and Frazier will some where this week and some one will ask them what do you think of the Ravens vs. Steelers "Thrilla-N-Pittsila" football game, and both legendary warriors will smile and say, may the best team win.
