Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal has opened his own Twitter account. You can check out his Twitter feed here. Using the username THE_REAL_SHAQ, O'Neal recently used Twitter to quash a far-fetched rumor about a possible return to the L.A. Lakers.

It said on the scrolling ticker tape jammy shaq would like to return to the lakers when his contract is up. Thats not true, this is the real shaq. If

O'Neal started Twittering, in part, because he was angry about a fake Shaquille O'Neal account posted by a stranger. In many ways, the fake Shaq was more entertaining than the real Shaq.

Guys know if they need an instant bucket, they can come to me. As the son of Jor-El, it’s in my nature to help others and save the universe

and

Our offense is like the Pythagorean Theorem. There is no answer

Actually… there is an answer.  I learned it in high school.  It’s… ahhh… never mind.

On the plane back to #PHX, another Suns W. Bogut is Erika Dampier with a beard

Hah.. 2 for 1 shot there.  Double Twitter Diss… that’s worth double points!

Of course… it wouldn’t be Shaq if there wasn’t a marketing twist

After two days off I feel fresh. Thanks to the upper management and their decision. Thanks to Vitamin Water for sponsoring Shaq tweets

Of course, some doubt that the new "real" Shaq is actually O'Neal.

According to the NY Times, O'Neal has confirmed that the THE_REAL_SHAQ Twitter account does belong to him.

Meanwhile, Shaquille O’Neal is tweeting with the unbridled zeal of a 12-year-old. He posted 17 times Wednesday, making references to Oprah, yoga, Kobe and fettuccine. He had 1,131 subscribers as of Wednesday night — up from 40 in the morning.

And he had a message for Andrews and any other sham Shaqs out there.

“I just want to say, ‘Nice job,’ but now let the professional take over,” O’Neal said in an interview. “There can only be one me. Uno más me.”
