Red Bull Rampage 2008 - Qualifications
Unfortunately the weather didn't want to participate as much as the riders involved in this event, converting the Red Bull Rampage 2008 Qualifications in a "zip" event.
The original idea of having two runs, one on Saturday morning and another in the afternoon for he qualifications, had to be adapted to a one-run qualifier on Sunday afternoon because the rains during Saturday.
This basically left the riders without any time for training or planning for their routes, forcing them to ride their lines up to mere minutes before the contest was supposed to start.
Despite all these facts the event was spectacular and the show guarantied. Riders drove down the terrain one after another through impossible lines they previously have chosen, trying to make a space for himself between the 15 first positions for tomorrow's final.
Check by yourself, you may think that's crazy and there is nothing else more risky than that, but you are wrong... a 60 feet gap will be waiting for them for tomorrow's final!

altrugon, I like this story. It's good stuff. Watching those comps is incredible; especially some of the young guys who grew up in BC's big backyard.

I know. Since I'm living here in Vancouver I'm totally hook up into Freestyle and DH mtb, and I get out there with my bike every time I have a chance.
The North Shore is great and I can believe some of the structure you can find over there, needless to say a word about Whistler.
