Red Sox Mickey Vandalized

A Mickey Mouse Statue in Red Sox regalia was vandalized by parties unknown. Currently there are 36 Mickey Mouse statues around the Los Angeles area, sporting different MLB uniforms. The statues are to commemorate All-Star Week, but only Red Sox Mickey has been attacked.

Red Sox Mickey Mouse, hanging out in front of the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, had his arm smashed (possibly with a baseball bat), and has been removed for repair.

Baseball fans were engaged in a contest to photograph themselves with all 36 Mickeys.

As The California Angels and the Boston Red Sox are rivals, the entire region is populated with potential suspects.

It appeared that someone had taken whacks with something at one of Mickey's arms.

"There is a crack in one of the arms and some damage to the baseball Mickey is holding," said Matt Bourne, a spokesman for Major League Baseball.
