Refs report finds only Donaghy committed crimes

David Stern and the NBA can finally have a huge sigh of relief as report shows Tim Donaghy as the only ref to be involved in illegal activities. I can't imagine the chaos if more refs were involved in this scandal and the bad rep the NBA would receive from this. The integrity of the game would be in question and what is more severe for a sports league than its integrity.

A review of the NBA's officiating program found no evidence of illegal activity by any referee other than Tim Donaghy, though it recommended significant changes for monitoring gambling and game integrity.

The report, compiled over 14 months by former federal prosecutor Lawrence Pedowitz and released Thursday, called for the creation of a "culture of compliance" and closer monitoring of games for suspicious activity.

The report is also suggesting mandatory gambling education for players. Referees are also allowed to bet at a race track, off-track betting, and at casinos during the off-season.
