If warm-up laps are any measure, Will Power will be close in the race, but ... no cigar!
In an average over 10 laps, Dario Franchitti is holding the fastest times where as Power is the driver with the fourth fastest.
This one-mile oval course is not Power's specialty and if he is unable to come away with a large gain in points (over 15) against the 63 points he needs to make up against Franchitti, the season is pretty much over for this Penske team and former ChampCar World Series stand-out.

UPDATE:
Will Power qualifies out of the top ten positions at P13. Dario Franchitti adds on more point for Power to erase by taking the pole position for tomorrow's race.
64 points now separates Will Power from the 2011 championship and this race will eliminate anyone from a good shot at unseating Dario Franchitti from a repeat championship if Dario finishes the race in the top three or four even if Will Power wins.
Further, if Will Power does not win ... kiss his chances G O O D B Y E!
