R_I_P_ Robert Enke - Tribut

Robert Enke, a goalkeeper in the German Bundesliga, is dead from an apparent suicide. Enke, who had played for several clubs including a brief stint with Barcelona, was playing for Hannover 96 when he passed away. While all the details have yet to be released, it appears that Enke committed suicide in the town of Neustadt.

Bild journalist Wolf Bruer explained to Sky Sports, "It seems to be deliberate suicide. He has apparently driven his car this evening to a train crossing station (level crossing), waited for the train, and the train hit him.

Some are suggesting that Enke was suffering from deep personal problems. In addition to health problems, it is believed that Robert Enke was distraught from the death of his daughter back in 2006.

"The president of Hannover confirmed indeed that it's a very sad news. He also said, very importantly, that he confirmed Robert Enke had been a very unstable person."

During his football career, Robert Enke played for several international teams  including Benfica, Tenerife, Fenerbahce, and Barcelona. Enke was also in the running for a spot on German's national team at the 2010 World Cup.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed that Robert Enke's death has been ruled a suicide after a suicide note was discovered.
