Like Robin Hood, Russell Crowe Gives Car To Poor Crew Member

Actor Russell Crowe is currently filming a new Robin Hood film. Like Robin Hood, Russell Crowe is giving to the poor--well, actually a poor crew member who had her car engulfed in flames.

Crowe reportedly gave Denise Yarde, a boom microphone operator on the film, after she arrived late to the set because her car burst into flames. When she arrived late, she complained that she’d have to buy a new car, a remark that Crowe reportedly joked about. Yarde didn't think it was funny.

Crowe quickly apologized and gave Denise Yarde 5,000 pounds (approximately US$8,100) to help pay for her new car.

Set for release in the summer of 2010, Robin Hood stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett and directed by Ridley Scott.
