Roddy Piper Death: Is WWE Legend Rowdy Roddy Piper Dying?
Wrestling legend Rowdy Roddy Piper has reportedly been dealing with a serious illness, one that could many think could take his life. Roddy Piper has reportedly canceled several public appearances due to the illness. It is believed that the cancer that Roddy Piper successfully battled several years ago has returned.
If true, the Roddy Piper news is tragic.
He found out that his cancer had returned, and it is expected to be terminal. This means Piper may not be living much longer.
Of course, this being pro wrestling, there will no doubt be some fans who will think that this whole thing is a put-on. It's hard to believe, however, that even a showman like Roddy Piper would game his audience like this.
In November 2006, Piper was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Doctors performed surgery to remove a tumor and Piper suffered through radiation treatment. The cancer disappeared but now appears to have returned and could prove fatal.
According to one source, WWE officials are already preparing for the possibility of Rowdy Roddy Piper dying.
It is being reported from a very good source that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has told the WWE Creative team to be prepared to cut a few segments on RAW next week, as he would like to do a video tribute in Piper's honor if Piper were to pass away this week.
Meanwhile, other sources claim that the Roddy Piper Death Rumor is false.
In speaking with one of Piper's representatives today, I was told that while Piper has taken time off for health-related issues after wrapping his most recent film, he is not dying and was not diagnosed at that time with being terminally ill from cancer.
I was told Piper was advised by his doctors to take a break from his work schedule to recover from some health issues and is doing so.
An official statement from Piper's representatives may be forthcoming, but in any event, no, Piper is not terminal with cancer.
Let's hope for his sake that the Roddy Piper death rumors as just that: rumors.
