Roger Mayweather Arrested For Attack on Melissa St Vil

Roger Mayweather, a renowned boxing trainer and uncle of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., was arrested for assault. Roger Mayweather is accused of beating up and strangling Melissa St. Vil, a female boxer who used to train with Mayweather.

According to police report, St. Vil alleges that Roger Mayweather punched her in the ribs several times and attempted to strangler her. St. Vil was staying at an apartment that Mayweather owns. The trainer became enraged when he found out that St. Vil had a friend living in the apartment without his permission.

Roger Mayweather has been charged with coercion and battery. The arrest could hinder his ability to train nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is coming out of retirement for a September bout against Juan Manuel Marquez.
