Ron Artest, earned his NBA championship ring earlier in 2010 when the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Boston Celtics. Ron Artest  said "I never wear my ring, be giving it away...raise some money for scholarships for kids Once we get it on game day...look at it, box it up, wrap it up, sign it and the big contest for the fans, a world wide contest."

Very few players get to wear the coveted NBA that Ron Artest would choose to hold a contest to raise money for charity for underprivileged kids is a remarkable gesture.

Ron Artest is certainly flamboyant but clearly his heart and his actions are in the right place.
