It is remarkable what therapy his done for Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest. When he won a NBA championship ring with the Lakers he announced that he would like to thank his therapist, Dr. Santhi for helping him focus - referring to his psychologist Dr. Santhi Periasamy.

Ron Artest To Give Away NBA Championship Ring To Charity

Now, Ron Artest has decided to raffle his Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship ring for charity - the details of which will be announced on CNN's Larry King Live.

Ron Artest said "I never wear my ring, be giving it away...raise some money for scholarships for kids Once we get it on game day...look at it, box it up, wrap it up, sign it and the big contest for the fans, a world wide contest."

Winning an NBA Championship ring is something very few players achieve and the fact that Ron Artest would use his LA Lakers championship ring to raise money for charity says a lot about his transformation since he was suspended for 73 games, losing $7 million dollars in salary after his infamous fight with a fan while he was with the Pacers in 2004.
Ron Artest attributes some of his transformation to the efforts of his therapist Houston based psychologist Dr. Santhi Periasamy.

I spilled my guts to her, so I can fix it, become a better parent, become a better person, be relaxed, enjoy the blessings of everything in my life," he said.

Periasamy traveled with him several times, including a trip to Boston during the Finals after he had had a particularly bad night at the free throw line.

"I was a nervous wreck," he said. "I needed to get focused. I wasn't focused on the game."
