Houston Rockets forward Ron Artest has found himself in an odd situation due to comments he made via Twitter.  Artest's agent has tried to distance his client from those comments by saying that the Tweets came from an imposter.  Confused yet?

Here's what seems to have happened. Artest made the following comment via Twitter, which implies that he's leaving the team:

THANKS ALOT HOUSTON.:) I HAD ALOT OF FUN:)

Agent David Bauman said that the real Artest never made those remarks.

"That is not Ron’s account," Bauman said. "That’s what happens with the so-called new media."

It appears that Bauman himself is new to so-called new media or else he would have known that the comment was posted on Artest's official Twitter account. Artest's account features a  “Verified Account” symbol, which indicates that Twitter has independently checked the account's authenticity.

Rumors continue to swirl around Artest. Some reports have him signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers while other say he may join Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers.
