Here's what we do know: The leg break occurred during a sparring session between Palhares and Ordiz. Palhares applies a heel hook, his trademark finishing move. Ordiz, ever the trooper, refused to tap out. Palhares decided to applied more pressure and Ordiz tried to get out of it, causing "a compound fracture of the femur at the knee cap."
