When we say that kilted WWF and WWE legend Rowdy Roddy Piper has been wrestling with a broken neck, we don't mean that in a figurative sense. Piper has been literally wrestling while his neck was broken.

Rowdy Roddy Piper will undergo emergency neck surgery on September 12, and he's keeping fans updated via Twitter.

Rowdy Roddy Piper (born Roderick Toombs in Saskatoon, Alberta) doesn't know exactly when he broke his neck, but has been dealing with the pain for the past few months. He thought it was no big deal.

Piper is facing the upcoming surgery with bravado, which makes sense, since he has survived:

Hodgkin's Lymphoma
A plane crash
Electrocution
Getting run over by a car
Getting his signature bagpipes stuffed with toilet paper by Classy Freddie Blassie
Being an 80's wrestling star: many of them are dead by now

... so his fans are probably more worried about the surgery than he is. Hopefully UCLA Medical Center will play Rowdy Roddy Piper's entrance theme.
