Rush Limbaugh, Dave Checketts to Buy St. Louis Rams?
Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has confirmed that he is part of a group of investors that hope to buy the St. Louis Rams of the NFL. Limbaugh and Dave Checketts, the owner of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, are said to be spearheading the deal. Goldman Sachs is reportedly working to broker the sale of the team.
"Dave and I are part of a bid to buy the Rams and we are continuing the process. But I can say no more because of a confidentiality clause in our agreement with Goldman Sachs. We cannot and will not talk about our partners. But if we prevail we will be the operators of the team."
Rumors have been swirling about the possibility of Rush Limbaugh becoming part owner of the St. Louis Rams since May. Limbaugh was spotted at a St. Louis Rams game last month.
Limbaugh has long had connections to the NFL. He is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, dating back to when the host worked in Pittsburgh back in the 1970s.
In 2003, Limbaugh worked as an analyst on ESPN. He was let go by the sports network after comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.
