Certainly Disheartening if true, and a dishonor to a mans legacy as one of the worlds or at least one of Russias hockey icons.

Canada's spy-catchers suspect Soviet hockey legend Vladislav Tretiak was a "talent scout" who helped recruit sympathizers here to work for the Russian foreign intelligence service, according a new book by a former Canadian spy.

It is one several intrigues revealed in Nest of Spies, which portrays Canada as the world's No. 1 destination for legions of foreign government agents.

I wonder if spies were always in athletics considering their easy passage through international world events... sounds like an interesting read, thanks for posting
