Ryan Braun Faceplant Video 2011: Misses Inside the Park Home Run

Ryan Braun almost pulled off an amazing play on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Instead, he gave us one of the best sports mishaps of the year. During the Milwaukee Brewers loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, Ryan Braun nearly had an inside-the-park home run. One small problem: he tripped just before he hit home plate.

In the bottom of third inning. Braun drilled a shot to left-center field. The ball took an odd bounce and eluded two Cardinals outfielders. Braun chugged his way along the basepath and appeared on his way to an inside-the-park home run. Then he tripped and did a faceplant while rounding third and was eventually tagged out in a rundown.

Strangely, cameras cut to former NBA star Reggie Miller, who was in the crowd wearing Brewers gear. Miller reportedly is friends with Braun.
