Sa Jae-Hyouk: Weightlifter Injury Video from 2012 Olympics
South Korean Weightlifter Sa Jae-Hyouk Suffers Gruesome Arm Injury
South Korea's Sa Jae-Hyouk suffered a heinous arm injury while competing in the snatch, where the athlete grabs the (heavy) weight from the ground and lifts it over his head in one move.
While attempting to lift 162 kg (357.15 lb), Sa Jae-Hyouk's arm gave out, dislocating his elbow and twisting his forearm into an unnatural position that's painful to watch. Two officials ran out and held up a London 2012 banner to hid the work of two physicians, who helped Sa Jae-Hyouk off the stage to thunderous applause.
The Sa Jae-Hyouk injury video can be seen below, but it will make you wince. He had to drop out of the Men's 77kg Weightlifting competition.
The final results of the Men's 77kg were:
- Gold: Xiaojun Lu(China)
- Silver: Jaojie Lu (China)
- Bronze: Ivan Cambar Rodriguez (CUB)
