Sachin Tendulkar retires from ODI Cricket
Indian master blaster Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from One Day International games. He had already retired from the T20 format.
This came as the Indian selectors were assembling today to pick the squad for the upcoming India vs Pakistan series that starts on Dec 25.
Sachin Tendulkar said, "I have decided to retire from the One Day format of the game," he said in a statement. "I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup winning Indian team.
"The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest. I would like to wish the team all the very best for the future. I am eternally grateful to all my well wishers for their unconditional support and love over the years."
Sachin has played for India in 463 ODI's and has amassed a world record 18426 runs. He has also played 194 Tests and One T20 match.
