Sam Bradford Wins Big in Survey of Heisman Voters
In a survey of 100 media members across the country who vote for the Heisman Trophy, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford collected almost as many first-place votes — 47 — as his two closest quarterback competitors combined.
Colt McCoy of the Texas Longhorns and Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators received 20 and 31 first-place votes, respectively, while Graham Harrell of the Texas Tech Red Raiders failed to receive any first-place nods.
The Oklahoman newspaper surveyed Heisman voters, asking them what players made their ballot. First-place votes receive three points, second-place votes two and third-place votes one. First-place votes appear in parentheses. Shown below are the Top 5 finishers:
1. Sam Bradford (47), QB, So., Oklahoma, 226
2. Colt McCoy (20), QB, Jr., Texas, 172
3. Tim Tebow (31), QB, Jr., Florida, 164
4. Shonn Greene (2), RB, Jr., Iowa, 15
