MUSSOORIE, 6 Nov: On the concluding day of the 8th Regional Athletics Meet held at the Survey Grounds, here, the Sanatan Dharma Inter College won the overall trophy. The Sanatan Boys in the primary section were presented with the Late Major AP Dhyani Memorial Trophy, donated by Mrs and Mr PB Bhatt. Major AP Dhyani, the father-in-law of PB Bhatt, was a famous Olympian who represented India during the Tokyo Olympics (1964) in diving.
The Sanatan Girls primary section won the Late Lalit Sonkar Memorial Trophy donated by Nikku.
St Lawrence High School won the Sub-Junior (mini) the Late Divya Pundir Memorial Trophy.
In the Sub-Junior girls (mini) section, Mussoorie Girls Inter College won the Late Tara Pandey Memorial Trophy donated by Abha Shaili, Principal, Mussoorie Girls Inter College. In the Junior Division, boys, the late DP Bhatt Memorial Trophy went to St Lawrence School, Mussoorie. The trophy was donated by PB Bhatt.
In the Junior Girls’ Division, the Late Vinod Tayal Memorial trophy went to Sanatan Dharm Inter College. The trophy was donated by Anuj Tayal.
In the Senior Division, Boys, the Late Om Prakash Memorial Trophy went to Ghananand Inter College.
In Senior Girls, the late Darshanlal Memorial Trophy went to the Sanatan Dharm Inter College, Mussoorie. In the Sub-Junior Boys, Manoj Rawat was presented with the winner’s trophy. In the Sub-Junior Girls’ Marathon, Sonali, was adjudged the winner. In the Junior Boys, the Late Ajit Rawat Memorial Trophy was won by Pankaj Rawat of Nirmala School. The trophy was donated by SS Rawat and in the Junior Girls Marathon Nisha Gosain of St Lawrence School was presented the Late Neelu Rawat Memorial Trophy.
In the Senior Marathon for Boys, Praveen of Nirmala High School was presented the winning trophy.
The Athletic Meet concluded with prize distribution by the Chief Guest, Additional Education Officer, Sumitra Jugran, and Nagar Palika President OP Uniyal.
A cultural programme organised by school children at the end was much appreciated.
