Sara Carbonero, Journalist and Girlfriend of Iker Casillas, is Being Partly Blamed For Spain's World Cup Loss to Switzerland

Sara Carbonero, voted the 'sexiest journalist in the world' (photo) is also the girlfriend of goalkeeper and Spanish captain Iker Casillas, who has faced criticism for letting in a goal by Switzerland's Gelson Fernandes during their first appearance in the World Cup.

As reported by The Guardian, fingers are being pointed at Sara Carbonero for being too close to her boyfriend before the game began as she was filming behind the goal, and possibly distracting him from being able to play to the best of his ability.

She has dismissed the claims as 'nonsense'. 

After the game Carbonero interviewed her boyfriend and asked him on live television:

The couple have been dating for just about one year, but is it possible for a player in the World Cup to be distracted by a girlfriend? There is talk that Robert Green, the English goalkeeper, was distracted by his split from lingerie model Elizabeth Minett and that is why he may have let in an easy goal by the United States.
