Sarah Palin Will Drop the Puck at Philadelphia Flyers Game

Vice Presidential candidate and self-proclaimed "hockey mom" Sarah Palin will perform the ceremonial opening faceoff at the Philadelphia Flyers home opener, Oct. 7. Palin's appearance in the battleground state of Pennsylvania is part of the team's "Ultimate Hockey Mom" promotion. The winner of the contest will join Palin in dropping the opening puck.
Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider has donated money to John McCain's presidential campaign and last month made a public appearance with Palin at a local bar.
“Because of the tremendous amount of publicity she has brought to our sport, we invited the most popular hockey mom in North America to our home opener to help us get our season started,” Snider said in a team statement Wednesday. “We are very excited she has accepted our offer and we are very proud of the publicity she is generating for hockey moms and the sport of hockey.”
The team will award all hockey moms entered into the contest with a free “puck-er peach” lipstick and four tickets to a hockey game of the Flyers’ minor league affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. The winner will appear on the ice with Palin for opening faceoff.

Can't give you a GS flag on this one because the story sucks. NOT because you wrote it. It sucks because I just lost all respect I may have had for the Flyers Hockey team.

Hey...Is anyone going to protest this appearance by a woman who is definitely not Kate Smith and definitely NOT a Flyers fan?

I'm going and bringing about a dozen signs to hand out.
Sadly, I don't have a ticket for the game, but I'm planning to be as close as I can get.

I am so disgusted with the Flyers organization!!! I really hope the Philly Flyers fans boo the heck out of her on Saturday! I like the idea of an Obama chant.....Ed Snider definitely could care less about his core base of Flyer fans....the working class heroes!!!

Wake up people. This is the greatest thing to ever happen. Imagine the publicity on the news when she gets the asshole chant.
