Scott Hamilton, Dorothy Hamill to Skate on Thanksgiving Day
Scott Hamilton will skate for the first time on television since battling a brain tumor. He'll be joined by Dorothy Hamill, a breast cancer survivor. The ice skating special, titled Kaleidoscope, will air on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Joining Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill will be Kristi Yamaguchi and Nancy Kerrigan.
Scott hamilton was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1997, and, after fighting that, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2004. (Scott Hamilton biography)
The program is intended to entertain and motivate, said Scott Hamilton, winner of the 1984 Olympic gold medal and a four-time world champion. He's battled testicular cancer and a non-cancerous brain tumor.
Kaleidoscope will air immediately after the football games on Fox.
Hamill will skate to the music of fellow cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John and one of America’s foremost music producers, David Foster. Joining Olivia and David will be American Idols David Archuleta and Katherine McPhee.
