Scott Stapp, the lead singer of Creed, has been out of the public eye for a while. He is back, however, thanks to the Florida Marlins. Stapp has recorded a song for the Florida Marlins entitled 'Marlins Will Soar."
Scott Stapp's Marlins Will Soar" is a remake of his own song, "You Will Soar." Clearly, Scott Stapp doesn't know a whole lot about the animal kingdom, and thinks that a marlin is a bird rather than a fish.
Here's a little taste of 'Marlins Will Soar lyrics: "it's gameday. We want strikeouts, base hits, double plays."
Scott Stapp, Marlins Fan
Scott Stapp is apparently quite the baseball fan; he was even the best man at David Wells' wedding. Stapp is also chummy with Marlins management, having attended the Super Bowl with Florida Marlins president David Samson earlier this year. Stapp is also friends with former Marlins players Kevin Millar and Jeff Conine.
What is it about the state of Florida and songs for sports teams. Thus far, the state of Florida has given us some gruesome music attached to their sports teams. Back in 2008, actor Kevin Costner recorded a song for the Tampa Bay Rays 2008 playoff run. The song is what you would expect from the creative mind that gave us Waterworld.
Last season, hip-hop star T-Pain recorded a version of the Miami Dolphins fight song that was auto-tuned within an inch of its life.
Yet it seems that Scott Stapp has trumped them all.
