 Remark - "My Sloppy Seconds"

Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL after making "inappropriate public comments" about Calgary Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf and his actress girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert.

Avery dated Cuthbert prior to her relationship with Phaneuf, and Avery made light of the situation prior to the Stars game against Calgary.

So what did Sean Avery say?

"I am really happy to be back in Calgary, I love Canada," Avery said Tuesday morning. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

The "sloppy seconds" comment was directed at Phaneuf but was also an indirect shot at Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll, who is engaged to model Rachel Hunter, another of Avery's former paramours. Prior to dating Phaneuf, Elisha Cuthbert was also romantically linked with Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Komisarek.

Dallas Stars owner Tom Hicks supported the  NHL's decision.

"Had the league not have suspended him, the Dallas Stars would have," Hicks stated. "This organization will not tolerate such behaviour, especially from a member of our hockey team. We hold our team to a higher standard and will continue to do so."

Sean Avery always says stuff to stir the pot, which is good for fame but bad for reputation.

Avery, what were you thinking.  Some dumb A$$ comment that should have been kept to yourself.  You get what you deserve.  You comments and actions are that of a 16 year old.

Grow up.  I am just starting to get into hockey and heard your a bit of a jerk.  Look at you now and now the what I heard is true.

Not exactly the "role" models most mothers seek for their sons-or does he have a slam for the Moms too??  I realize Avery LOVES contraversy, but this was an immature comment that crosses the line and makes me wonder, ya jealous of what ya lost Sean? Grow up or grow old alone....

Avery, wow, what can you say.  On one hand I love the guy, screw all the political correctness, this is hockey damn it.  I played for many years and we said some nasty stuff to guys on the ice, it is a pesky type game, at least the North American style.  The prude Euros usually don't partake in that type of thing.

hockey is cold-enjoy the game

why this guy penalized for saying the true? model, athlete, movie star and celebrity are just recycle women , they date on contract , one gets to enjoy them while others wait until she becomes a free agent , but they all stay in the same recycle arena.

Dion would own Avery. End of story on that topic. But on the other hand, it does seem like Cuthbert is getting tossed around the NHL like a beachball at grassroots concert. And I gotta ask "what's the deal witht that?" hahahahaha.

This is so stupid! I just found out what he said after hearing all day he said something stupid and this is retarded. Honestly that's not bad. If ur a woman and you sleep around, make no mistake, YOU ARE A SLUT!!! If Dion doesn't like it he can find a virgin, if he doesn't care then why the hell should we. There has to be something else he did because this comment is not worth all this trouble especially his team calling him out.

I don't see the big deal.  First of all, how does he know she's sloppy?  Second, maybe if we quit preying on people's lives and quit interviewing everyone and just got on with our own damn lives, this kind of stuff wouldn't get around and get blown out of proportion.  Who cares about celebrities so much nowadays anyway?  People with no lives, that's who.  Get real people and get a hobby.

Maybe she shouldn't be suck a WHORE! Then these things wouldn't happen.

This whole scenario just makes me laugh.  The same people Liberal thinking people who have no problem living their lives will call out another guy for laying everything out on the line.  And sloppy seconds is just a term.  It looks like Elisha is trying to live her own episode of 24 as in 24 different hockey players in her in one season.

You would think after datin 2 hockey players that it just wouldn't work. Sean Avery is a retard and I'm glad he is gone. He isn't good for the NHL or its image. It seems like every two minutes he is getting in trouble for one thing or another. He is a dirty player and the NHL should just rid him from their existence.

Who will be the next one from NHLers to get it done with Cuthbert? :) hehe
