Second Monster Truck Death In One Week Takes Place in Wisconsin

Another monster truck death has taken place just one week after a young boy was killed a monster truck show in Washington state. On Saturday, a monster truck show promoter was killed at a show he was promoting in Madison, WI.

The monster truck reporter was ran over by a monster truck and rushed to hospital. The promoter, George Eisenhart Jr., died in hospital the next day.

Eisenhart was the president of Image Promotions, which put on the monster truck show this weekend at the Alliant Energy Center Coliseum.

Prior to the event, Eisenhart spoke to the media about the safety of monster truck shows.

"This is our 16th year, and I wish I had a big piece of wood to knock on right now, but we have not had an incident besides a gal slipping in the aisle at another location," Eisenhart said Friday, according to a transcript provided by WKOW TV in Madison. "That's been all."

Last week, a six-year-old boy was killed after an accident at a Monster Jam monster-truck show in Tacoma, WA. Sebastian Hizey of Puyallup, WA, was struck by a metal object that flew into the crowd and struck him in the head.

I do think that they may need some reforms and maybe even cancel those events for now at least.

I've seen a lot of Monster Truck shows at our Nascar track, and all of them seem to follow every safety guideline, but end up falling short in some area. Though our spectators are gaurded by a thick safety fence, I can see how a piece of heavy sharp metal could cut through it, even though many cars have hit it, and it has stopped them. I pray this man knew the Lord as his Saviour.

One has to wonder if he may have had personal issues, walking out there like that. I've been to these shows and the predictability of these things is obvious even to a newbie. A momentary lapse of reason, perhaps? I feel for his family. Their whole world revolves around these events.
