At the Senior British Open 2009, Tom Watson shot 3-under 67 beginning his attempt at a 4th Senior British Open Championship.

Watson tied with Sam Torrance, Greg Norman, Jerry Bruner, and Tom Kite and was one shot away from Jay Haas and Loren Roberts.

Tom Watson went up against Jack Nicklaus at the British Open 2009 earlier this week and by a slight margin missed out on being the oldest Senior Open Champion ever.

Watson was leading up to the 72nd hole to then fall apart and lose one shot short.

"I guess they have had some periods of rain here and the golf course has softened up," said Watson, "I've had two good days to get adjusted to the golf course."
Watson shot 65-65 to Nicklaus' 65-66 over the final 36 holes -- paired together -- an epic if there ever was one.

Mr. Tom Watson is truly remarkable during the Open 2009.   He was pretty much spent by the time he played against Stewart Cink in the playoff at the Open 2009 last week.
