Point guard Shaun Livingston has signed a two-year contract with the Miami Heat. The 23-year-old Livingston hasn't played basketball since suffering a gruesome knee injury (the ugly footage can be seen here) while playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.
After nearly two years of rehab, the lanky 6-7 guard says he is ready to play. The Heat were in desperate need of a point guard to run their offense that features athletic players Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion. While many think Livingston is damaged goods, the Heat believe he could end up being a steal.
"I think a lot of people will be surprised by how good he looks because of the injury he had," Heat guard Dwyane Wade said. "Of course we all know he still has a ways to go. But I think for the future I think it's going to be good. Give him time to get back in shape and time to get healthy and you've got a 6-7 point guard for the future at a very young age."
