It's no surprise to anyone who follows the Olympic snowboard events, but Shaun White has done it again at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver by winning Gold in the men's halfpipe yesterday. The video with this story is Shaun's crash during a practice at the X Games earlier this year while attempting the Double McTwist 1260.

The trick that Shaun White is known best for has to be the Double McTwist 1260

To the delight of the crowd at Cypress Mountain yesterday Shaun White did perform the Double McTwist 1260 and there is no doubt that it helped him snag that Gold medal. He performed the trick after he had already won Gold.

What is the Double McTwist 1260?

The McTwist was invented by Mike McGill, a snowboarder in the early 1980s, and has since been adapted and developed by tough competitors such as Shaun White.

The McTwist is a front flip performed simultaneously with a backside 540, but Shaun White took that even further.

The Double McTwist is two flips and three and a half spins. It's very difficult and needs a lot of air, and although Shaun has not always landed it successfully it is his signature move and fans at Cypress were estatic to see it in person.

Seriously though, He currently does what no other PERSON in the world can do on a board. I guess that's why he won the GOLD!.... AGAIN! I never really understood much about this sport but I’ve tried snowboarding a bit and its seriously awesome, and seeing Shaun doing those crazy moves on the half tube, it’s hard not to be inspired …A few of the things I learned were here… ketiva.com/Sports/shaun_white.html
