Who Are the Richest Athletes in the US in 2011? SI Released Its List of Highest Paid Athletes

Sports Illustrated released its list of richest 2011 US athletes.

The list of Top 50 richest US athletes features plenty of familiar names. Surprisingly, the richest US athlete is Tiger Woods, who had a bit of a rough year in 2010 was listed as the richest athlete is the US. Right behind him was fellow golfer Phil Mickelson. Other familiar names on the list of richest athletes includes LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Alex Rodriguez, Kobe Bryant, and Tom Brady.

No doubt there were some athletes that some will say don't belong there: guys like Vernon Wells, Elton Brand, Gilbert Arenas and Barry Zito.

The rest of the list was filled largely with baseball, basketball and football players as well as NASCAR drivers and golfers.
