Sydney Crosby just now(9:30 am ADT) arrived on deck of the HMCS Preserver.  Today is the youngest Captain's, in the NHL, 22nd birthday.  What a birthday parade he arranged for himself.

The Pittsburg Penguins won the Stanley Cup during the 2008/09 NHL Season and Sidney Crosby is bringing the Stanley Cup to his home town of Cole Harbour.

He will have breakfast with dignitaries and talk to some military families.  Defence Minister Peter MacKay is in attendance.

After he disembarks the the Seaking Helicopter he is expected to parade in Halifax and then take the cup to the community of Cole Harbour.  Thousands of people are expected to greet their home town hero.

HALIFAX -- Fans of Sidney Crosby gathered today on a wharf in Halifax harbour to welcome the arrival of the Pittsburgh Penguins captain with the Stanley Cup.

Crosby is celebrating his 22nd birthday in Halifax and the suburban community of Cole Harbour -- his hometown -- with the trophy.

Crosby is scheduled to land on a Sea King helicopter at the Halifax Dockyard, where he speaks to members of the military and their families.

He'll then lead a parade through Cole Harbour, where thousands of people are expected to show up to greet the hockey star.
