Simon Ammann from Switzerland has won the first Gold Medal at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games in the Ski Jumping competition at Whistler.
After the first-round of the normal hill competition, Ammann had a 2.5 pin cushion but with his second jump he extended it to 7.
He also won normal and large hill gold in Salt Lake City and was a favorite to win today against Gregor Schlierenzauer.
But 20-year old Schlierenzauer, who scored normal hill silver at the World Championships in Liberec last year, failed to live up to the hype in his first Olympic appearance, finishing third overall on 268.
Schlierenzauer's first round score of 128 was not enough to get him the Gold however.
Ammann set a hill record of 108m with his second jump as well, and had an overall score of 276.5m to win his third Olympic gold.
