Wimbledon 2011: Simona Halep Credits Breast Reduction with Saving Her Game

19-year-old Simona Halep may have lost to Serena Williams in the second round at Wimbledon 2011, but she's in the news nonetheless, due to her frank talk about breast reduction surgery. You can see photos of Simona Halep in action below.

Like Maria Sharapova, Romanian tennis star Simona Halep was as famous for her bust as she was for her tennis, but found that a 36DD bust was getting in the way. Simona Halep went down to a 34C, and her game has taken off: try an advancement to #57... up 450 spots.

Halep said, "My ability to react quickly was worse, and my breasts made me uncomfortable. It's the weight that troubles me. My breasts made me uncomfortable when I play. I don't like them in my everyday life, either. I would have gone for surgery even if I hadn't been a sportswoman."

Of course, training and experience are also a factor, but freedom of movement is a must when you reach the elite levels of tennis. Simona Halep has been playing since she was four years old.
