Defending Six Nations champs Wales sailed to an easy 26-13 victory over Scotland in their opening match of the 2009 Six Nations.

Wales didn't appear hampered by injuries to Gavin Henson and Ryan Jones and got off to a blazing start against the Scots. Centre Tom Shanklin and lock Alun-Wyn Jones scored early tries that Scotland never recovered from.

In total, Wales scored four tries to Scotland's one. Winger Max Evans scored Scotland's lone try with his team already down 26-6. Chris Paterson rounded out the score sheet for Scotland with two penalties and a conversion.

Wales next game will be a big one. They face England in a Valentine's Day match at Millennium Stadium.
