The fallout from a photo showing Michael Phelps smoking marijuana includes a 3-month suspension by USA swimming and no renewal on a sponsorship contract with Kelloggs. The bong used by Phelps was almost sold for $100k on eBay and reportedly belongs to an online poker pro.

The forum poster is believed to be Carter (aka Zachary) King, the reigning champion of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event on PokerStars. His online alias is "ckingusc" on PokerStars, Full Tilt, Bodog and UB and he also posts under popular internet poker forums with the same name.

A local TV news station in South Carolina reports: "We've now learned that since investigators began trying to build a case, they've made eight arrests: seven for drug possession and one for distribution. These are arrests that resulted as the sheriff's department served search warrants. We've also learned that the department has located and confiscated that bong. Sources say the owner of the bong was trying to sell it on eBay for as much as $100,000. The owner, who wasn't even at the party, is one of the eight now charged." The police say the photo indicated a law was being broken in their jurisdiction and just because Phelps is rich and famous doesn't mean they will look the other way.

This guy has had too many bong hits....We know because he was selling a used bong on Ebay. What an idiot. Although, I think this debate is good for America.

Maybe the Sports Hall of fame would buy it and put it next to Phelp's medals some day. Seriously, the US has got to relax their pot laws and spend scarce tax dollars pursuing violent offenders. The rest of the world laughs at the resources your police forces, courts and prisons waste dealing with people who smoke pot. It's just pot. Have a bong hit and just mellow out about it. JMHO.
