Several hundred spectators and fans of the Philadelphia Soul football team, co-owned by rock star Jon Bon Jovi, gathered in the center city to cheer the wining team after it grabbed the victory title ArenaBowl XXII Sunday, July 27, in New Orleans.

Arena Football League champions including the entire team of player, executives and owners paraded through the Sixth and Market streets down to the City Hall’s Dilworth Plaza where Jon Bon Jovi presented the team to the public and thanked the city for a warm reception it has showed to his team.

"This is the little train that could. This is the sports team that said we're going to be your sports team, and we're going to be the team that you feel a part of the most," the rock star told the crowd. "We want to thank you for the opportunity to let us be a part of your lives as much as you've become a part of our lives." The singer did not perform at the event but hinted that he plans to hold a large music concert at the start of the next season.

The Philadelphia Soul won its first Arena Football League Championship over the San Jose Sabercats in a close winning score 59-56, Sunday, July 27 in New Orleans.
