  NASCAR  Sprint Cup Driver Jeremy Mayfield has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR due to a failed drug test. Two crewmen were also suspended: Tony Martin and Ben Williams.

NASCAR announced Saturday evening before the Southern 500 race that driver of the No. 41 Jeremy Mayfield in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has been suspended indefinitely for violation NASCAR’s substance abuse policy. Also suspended were crew members Tony Martin, of the No. 34 team in the Sprint Cup Series, and Ben Williams, of the No. 16 team in the Nationwide Series.

First Report-

NASCAR will announce at 6 p.m. today that a driver has been suspended for a violation of NASCAR's drug testing policy. If the driver is a Sprint Cup series driver, it will be the first such suspension under NASCAR's new drug testing policy.

The Southern 500 begins this evening at 7:20 p.m.
