Sri Lanka won 3rd match-Natwest series 2011
Sri Lanka beat England short while ago by 6 wickets in the third one day international at Lords today and lead Natwest the 5 match series 2-1.
Young 21 year old Dinesh Chandimal scored his second career century as he led the Sri Lankan chase together with Mahela Jayawardena.
Chandimal scored 105 not out as Sri Lanka made 249/4 in reply to England’s 246/7 off 50 overs.
However Chandimal’s innings was marred by what international match commentators said was a selfish innings as Sri Lanka were just a few runs away from victory as both he and Angelo Mathews intentionally avoided some singles and dragged the game to make sure Chandimal got his century.
