Sriwijaya team new champion of Copa Indonesia 2007

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Sriwijaya FC soccer team emerged as new
champion after beating Persipura soccer club 4-1 in the final of Copa
Dji Sam Soe Indonesia 2007 in Bung Karno sports stadium here on Sunday
night.

Both teams shared 1-1 score until the end of (90 minutes) match, and
the final match was extended for another 30 minutes but the score
remained unchanged at 1-1.

When the referee gave each team five chances to score a goal, three
Persipura players namely Eduard Ivakdalam, David Da Rocha and Albeto
failed to make a score.

On the other hand, Sriwijaya FC`s team scored three goals, changing the score 4-1 in its favor.

The winner received Rp1.5 billion, and the runner up had to be satisfied with Rp 750 million.(*) END
