Football Brawl Video: St. Leonards Cougars Football Players Fight With Fans At Ivor Wynne Stadium - Video

Hamilton is tough town. Steel city. Working class. But when a brawl broke out involving St. Leonard Cougars Junior High School Football players during the Ontario High School Football championship it looked more like an Boston Bruins games form the 1970s.

Numerous St. Leonard Cougars Football players stormed the stands after fans (there were only 200 or so in Ivor Wynne Stadium) hurled insults and bottles at players.

St. Leonard head coach Jeff Rached said the brawl wouldn’t have happened if there had been more crowd control.

“Especially when I asked the head referee to get security in the second quarter,” he said. “Look, I’ve been coaching football for a long time. You can’t have people pulling that (bleep) back there and have nothing happen ... Drinking, insults, throwing bottles and water ....

“These aren’t professional players that realize, ‘Oh, if I do something, they can sue me for millions.’ ”

I you may be the moron. Players attacking fans is not sport. 20 on 1? Stomping the fan? What is wrong with you people? So what if the fan said something unkind, it doesn't give you and 20 other players the right to go into the stands and attack. The St Leonard Coach is a coward for not stopping his players. Ontario, or Hawaii, it doesn't matter, this is thuggery at it's best and these players should be in jail and have their ability to play the next level of footall suspended for ever. I hope the parents are proud.
