March 17, 2012- The Duke Blue Devils are one of the elite programs in college basketball. Mike  Krzyzewski earlier this basketball season became the winningest coach in Division 1 history passing his mentor Bobby Knight.

When you look at what took place last night on the eve of St. Patrick's Day the 75-70 Lehigh defeat of Duke has to rank as the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history based on the legacy of Coach Kryzewski and the status of the Duke program.

He has won 4 NCAA Championships (second most all-time to John Wooden-10). Taken his teams to 11 Final Fours, won 13 ACC Tournament Championships, and coached Team USA to a Gold Medal in 2008 with basketball stars Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade. Right now he's the most respected basketball coach in college basketball. The Michael Jordan of his peers and that says a lot because of the rivalry between UNC and Duke.

To make it worse, the historic loss happened in front of a Greensboro Coliseum crowd nearly half-filled with North Carolina fans, who watched their Tar Heels win earlier in the day and delighted in going bananas for Lehigh throughout the upset.

This game is deserving of a title and because of that this game will be remembered as the St. Patrick's "Dunkadelic Massacre."

When Lehigh needed baskets at the end of the game they got break-away dunks like they were Phi Slama Jama (University of Houston) playing the University of Louisville in 1983.

Twenty years from now basketball fans will remember where they were when Duke lost to Lehigh. It's like twenty years ago (1992) fans remember where they were when Duke beat Kentucky at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. The Grant Hill pass to Christian Laettner buzzer beater. I remember it like it was yesterday.
