Gary & Pat Weiler - 2009 Calgary Grey Cup Committee - Favorite Grey Cup Memories

The Saskatchewan Roughriders met the Calgary Stampeders in Regina yesterday to determine who would face the Montreal Allouettes in next weekends Canadian Football League Final.

The Alouettes beat the B.C. Lions 56-18 in the East Division final earlier Sunday.

After a slow start for Saskatchewan in the first quarter, the Roughriders blew away the Calgary Stampeders 27-17 in Regina yesterday.

The stage is now set for the Grey Cup Final (Canada's Superbowl) next weekend in Calgary.

Darian Durant, a quarterback that had only started in four games this season, looked anything but a first year quarterback in the Western Conference Final.  The team found its rhythm in the second quarter and never looked back.  Durant made the key plays that ensured Saskatchewan's success.

This week will be filled with events and celebrations in Calgary leading up to Canada's top show in football.

The Alouettes blew away B.C. 56-18 in a one sided final early on Sunday.

REGINA -- Darian Durant looked like anything but a first-year starting quarterback during Sunday's West Division final.

The Saskatchewan pivot threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns as the Roughriders advanced to the Grey Cup with a 27-17 win over the Calgary Stampeders at Mosaic Stadium.

Durant started four games for Saskatchewan last year and was the third-stringer in 2007 when Kerry Joseph quarterbacked the Roughriders to their first Grey Cup since 1989.

Saskatchewan will meet the Montreal Alouettes at Calgary's McMahon Stadium next weekend. The Alouettes beat the B.C. Lions 56-18 in the East Division final earlier Sunday.

The so-called sissy soccer stuff doesn't use all that padding.  I got the bruises to prove it lol.

HUGH: JEEZ! What's with Americans anyway when it comes to putting down soccer? Sissy stuff? How can you call a game whose fans often riot after a game "sissy stuff?  I'd take much more interest in the NFL if the fans rioted after the games. lol!

ACP: What was that game that Sly Stallone was playing (on horseback) in one of his Rambo movies with the animal carcass? It was the movie where he was in Afghanistan . . . .

Thus, we hear talk from an Afghan rebel about The Eternal Struggle, and Rambo plays something like horse polo -- a sheep's carcass substituting for the ball -- with the local, friendly freedom fighters.
