A Man With a Knife Was Arrested on the Court at LA's Staples Center Prior to the March 19, 2011 Game Between the LA Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers

Police were called to the Staples Center in Los Angeles to disarm a man with a knife.

Authorities reportedly confronted the man who was on the basketball court prior to the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Police got into a standoff with the man on the court near the visitors bench. The Staples Center knife incident took place a couple of hours before the Clippers and Cavaliers were set to tip off. Some fans had already entered the stadium.

One Cleveland Cavs reporter said via Twitter that:  "Christian Eyenga was on court during incident. Went running off floor"

Authorities did not reveal the identity of the man involved in the Staples Center incident.

According to Staples Center officials, the game between the Clippers and Cavaliers will not be affected.
