An estimated 250,000 fans flooded the streets of downtown Pittsburgh for the Steelers parade after their history win at Super Bowl XLIII.

Thousands of fans lined the Steelers parade route waving the team's trademark Terrible Towels. Even Pittsburgh police got into the act as officers on horseback waved towels.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin led the Steelers victory parade riding in a red convertible. A procession of Steelers players in pickup trucks followed. Six local high school bands were marching in the parade, one for each championship won by the team.

The City of Pittsburgh, which was hesitant about having a parade, seems to have gotten into the spirit. City officials hung a banner on the City-County building reading "Welcome to Steelers Country Super Bowl XLIII Champions." The City Council also voted to symbolically change the city's name to Sixburgh for the day in honor of the team's sixth Super Bowl win.
